Sales Rep Lied About 5GB Plan

I will be filing a complaint with SC Consumer Affairs, BBB, FCC and the FTC against Verizon Wireless.   I wanted information about the 5 GB plan and the Sales Rep asked about my activity on the Internet.  I told her that that I watch a lot of online sports and instant video from Amazon and I hardly ever download anything.  She told me the 5 GB plan would serve my needs without any problem.  I set up the system Sat 4/7 and it worked perfectly, much better then Comcast.  Then I watched Gettysburg instant Video from Amazon and when I checked my usage, I found that I had used 1.24GB.  I was furious and immediately called Customer Service @ 2232 hrs on the 7th and cancelled the service and sending back the equipment on Monday, which is well, within my 14-day grace period.  This Sales Rep blatantly lied to me about the plan and I do plan on filing a complaint.  No way in hell, am I paying any $35.00 restocking fee, since I was lied too.

Maybe you should have asked Comcast how much you were using on their service to get an idea of what plan to pick from Verizon Wireless or if it was even worth switching.

That's the way to show them..... Don't do your homework now have the government protect you..... >smh<

You might be a flaky Geek, but I'm not. The question is-does Verizon want or need their sale reps who either blatantly lie or not trained to do anything to get business? I don't give a damn about your feedback and if you had any sense you should be happy consumer protections agencies are available. I just made a statement to get my point across to Verizon

And this geek, is simply saying, do your homework. You say you told him all this detail. Who knows, no one. You may have mentioned things without the amount of time you use it, which is my guess. Believe me, if the rep wanted to screw ya over, he would have suggested a higher amount data plan as that would give him a larger commission. Lying and saying 5GB is fine does not help him out one iota. He gets a sale and a commission, but not the commission if he had sold a larger plan.

And of you not like my feedback, (just because I did not side with you) ya should not post on a PUBLIC FORUM as you will have many who disagree with your point of view.

Of course, your going to disagree with my opinion due to the fact your probably a group of wannabe Verizon Tech.  You ppl might be good at the techy stuff, but you sure don't anything about consumer law and the business  world.  What I meant about not caring about your feedback-is I could care less what you say.  I posted this complaint as a matter of record, but you probably don't understand what that means.  I'm well within my 14 day grace period, so I'm not concerned.  Oh just for the record, I have been a Verizon customer for several years and very happy with their wireless service.  LOL, a chatroom for Geeks nothing wrong that

As you can disagree with me. And that is what is great about the grace period, you have time to try and decide. You have tried and may decided to go elsewhere. I have no ill will towards you because of it.

FYI I am so far from a flaky geek.  But in a 1 dimensional world of a forum, it is hard to tell.
