What is the purpose of google coming out with these new OS's if it is going to take forever to get them? push out the OTA for ICS already Verizon. They have to have some kind of timeline on when it will be out that they could announce (even if it is an approximate time within say 2 weeks).. How does Best Buy get a "leaked announcement" if the rumors are not somewhat true. Quit teasing us and just do it. One thing I give credit to Apple for... they say when and it happens.

Google creates the ICS operating system. They then have to release it to the manufacturers (HTC in this case). HTC has to make it work with their custom UI that their phones use. Test and retest. Then they send to Verizon for their testing. All parties need to be satisfied with the update before it is released as an OTA to the customers. This takes time.

Apple on the other hand controls the entire process.

I'm just about ready to update my Rezound with the Release Candidate version that can be found on the web.  The OS has been around since November and now its April.  They have had five freakin months.  Just how long do we have to wait before Mount Olympus decides us mere mortals can have what we have been promised.

All unofficial released version still have a number of bugs and the official release is intended to be resolved before release, if you choose to announce you void your warrenty but that isnt for this forum....  It is against TOS here...

Besides RC means Release Cadidate but if bugs get brought to the developers attention they would work on those issues before release, sometimes some of the bugs are more extreme than a simply code change to resolve.  Besides the device released with ICS has been having issue what make you think the updated version will work less problematic?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the bugs can't be too extreme on the Galaxy Nexus otherwise the phone would not be currently for sale.  Not to get off on another tangent, but I got the Rezound because it was the fastest phone in Verizon's stable and I was disappointed when the iPhone did not go LTE (i.e. iPhone 4S).  When and if the next iPhone comes out, I will probably get it because the one thing that can be said about Apple is that they keep their word.  They said IOS was going to be on a certain day and their it was.  There's none of this oh we don't know, its under evaluation, or it coming soon.  That's why Apple rules the Smartphone market.

I tried to download 3 times.  File is about 610MB and each time the file is corrupt.  Not a valid zip file so no way to install.

If anyone has a link that actually works, would like to try it.

Once again I have to point out the update is unofficial which means information to this can not be discussed here because it breaks forums rules and TOS policies..  So to your question about a link isn't possible, besides you have just pointed out why it not allowed, you have tried to get it and the update was corrupt and corrupt update leads to bricked device and no warranty..
