I've been using the hotspot feature on my phone fine for about a year. But recently the hotspot is not working. When I turn it on it doesn't broadcast a signal, isn't discoverable, and the blue notification window that the hotspot is on does not come up in the display. If I completely turn my phone off and then back on it will work. But thats ridiculous to have to do all the time. I contacted Verizon Support but naturally haven't received a reply.

Ellwilson and Gina, thank you for sharing your concerns with the hotspot on your device. I agree that you shouldn't have to reboot your phone everytime you want to turn on your hotspot, so I would like to help. First, please make sure you have the 5.1 software installed. You can connect to your computer with iTunes to update the software or go to Settings > General > Software Update to verify it is current.
Also, reset network settings by going to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. The phone will reboot. No data will be lost, but you will need to re-enter your wifi passwords and turn on the hotspot again. Attempt to connect to the hotspot again. If you are still having issues, the phone may need to be restored. He is some info on restoring/hard resetting your iPhone: http://bit.ly/vA8ie9.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
