I will be purchasing a new Motorola Razr Xt 912 ( 16g) in May. I have been researching witch micro SD card to buy and notice they come in different classes (how fast they operate). Witch one is recommended for the 16g razor? I don't mind spending extra for a different class but is it worth it? Any help would be appreciated...

I have a 32 GB class 10 and am very happy with it. No lag even when shooting HD movies. The SD Association has the following recommendations:
Class 2 : H.264 video recording, MPEG-4, MPEG-2 video recording
Class 4: MEPG-2 (HDTV) video recording, digital still camera (DSC) consecutive photo shooting
Class 6: Mega-pixel DSC consecutive photo shooting, professional video camera
Class 10: Full HD video recording, HD still picture consecutive shooting
I've read some speculation that the phone can't utilize speeds over class 6 but that is incorrect. Per Matt (Forums Moderator at Motorola support), "The Class 10 card will work at rated speed for video recording. But if you were loading the SD card with media from your PC, it would transfer at the Class 6 speed of about 8 MB/s."
Hope that answers your question.

Thanks, Sally. I haven't seen that description of the classes of SD cards before.
To the OP, I haven't purchased a SD card higher then a class 4 yet, but I don't recommend a class 2 for a high end smartphone anymore.

I purchased a PNY 32 GB class 10 from Amazon for under $38. Works great. It also includes the full size SDHC adapter.

Thanks to all for your replies. I think I will go with either the class 6 or 10 based on your responses. Have a good one!!!

Only problem is that Verizon charges too much for their SD cards. I was always told more than $1 per G is too much? Please comment. I am new to this....

I don't buy a SD card from Verizon. I can find the same product from Amazon, Best Buy, Staples and even Walmart for a better price.
