The difference is in the implementation that the carriers do.

LTE is a broad term, each carrier has different implementations.

One of verizons requirements is not met in either of the upcoming releases, and will not be met till Apollo.

What is this "full support"?

Please tell me what this "true LTE support" is.

Also, Windows Phone is NOT Windows Mobile!!!!!!

Actually, this is more about what Verizon wants.

IPv6 is not required for LTE.

Also, I doubt any phone has "full support" of 3GPP's standard of LTE release 8.

As seen above one of the requirements...

Windows Phone 7, and 7.5 DO NOT support IPv6.  Apollo WILL

http://www.nokiaphones.net/apollo-will-bring-ipv6-support-for-nokia-windows-phone-handsets/

http://wp7lab.com/news/ipv6-support-coming-with-windows-phone-8/

Now here's a site that makes claims WP7.5 does, BUT

http://wmpoweruser.com/mango-does-support-ipv6-after-all/

As I said patchwork job and it is NOT native. You can make apps that'll do IPv6, BUT Windows Phone 7.5 won't do it NATIVELY as requested from Verizon.

Now here's something that debunks wmpowerusers "does support" claim.

You would think Microsoft would be out in the open about Native IPv6 support.  Android, and iPhone are in the open about the support.  It is FULLY supported.  MS from what's new for Mango has no mention of IPv6 support...  as seen here from Microsoft site.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsphone/en-us/howto/wp7/start/whats-new-in-windows-phone.aspx

Now everyone KNOWS WP7 does not support IPv6.  If it was included then why does it not state so in the What's new for Mango?  Why hide the fact it does when their competitors flat out say they support it?

Now as you can see the "rumors" like many have suggested Windows 8 is supposed to FILL the gap, and that's when I suspect new WP coming to Verizon IF MS puts the requirements for their LTE network.

Just because some other LTE device is out running IPv4 doesn't mean Verizon will retract their requirement when people have already complied with updates to support IPv6 for their LTE network.  IPv6 is the future and doing it now vs. later will save time and headaches.

Are you talking about LTE to CDMA handover (for data)?  eHRPD?

You do realize how inclusive 3GPP's LTE release 8 specifications are?

I seriously doubt that Android managed to implant every single part of 3GPP's specifications.
