I have a new Spectrum and I love the phone, buuut I go to bed with the battery at 100% and when I get up it is around 35% and I have the data shut off from 6 pm to 6 am. I love the phone but don't know if I can tolerate the battery life of this phone!

Do you have an application that could be running in the background that is keeping the phone awake even with the screen off?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Check menu>settings>about phone>battery>battery use to find out what is eating your battery. If any apps are high up on the list, press it and see what the keep awake time is.

I have the extended battery, and that seems to last for more than 12 hours. I usually put it one the charger when going to bed and take it off when I get up (about a 7 hour charge). So, from around 5:30 am to around 9:00 pm it's good. It usually is at 40% when I put it on the charger. You might want to charge it up, so it's at 100% when you get up. Unless, of course, as demmo86rt said, an apps is eating up your battery.

i have the spectrum and i csn honestly say i haven't had any problems with the device not even battery.i think the minor problems i have is not really knowing how most of the features work ,but i play around with it and usually i can resolve it.i was unable to receive text messages after four days of having my phone ,and that was because my port over wasn't done correctly.i have one song i can't seem to get all it tells me is down loaded on sd card i don't know how to retreive the song.other than that i think this isa fantastic phone.i wanted the droid bionic ,but they were out.

Hello AJSmom63,
The LG Spectrum is a wonderful new 4G device with a large 4.5 inch screen and HD apps like Netflix HD. This device is one of the top contenders in the smartphone market! I see that the community members have provided some excellent advice on how to resolve the battery issue that you are having. Below, I have also provided some steps on how to get the most out of your battery.
- Verify what functions are using the most battery life. (see demmo86rt's posting above)
- Turn off bluetooth and wi-fi when not in use.
- Adjust e-mail delivery settings. (change to hourly intervals instead of 15 minute intervals)
- Turn off location based services when not in use.
- Adjust screen brightness.
- Drain the battery completely at least once per month.
- Purchase an extra or extended battery.
- Delete any unused apps or widgets from the home screen(s).
Once you have tried the steps above, let me know if the battery's performance has changed. If you are still experiencing this issue then we can look into the 14-day echange policy or warranty replacement options, whichever is applicable.
Thank you...

Hello. My name is Tyler. I am currently with my own Verizon plan and have the LG Spectrum. I have noticed a lot of interesting things in regards to the battery. For example, I had to charge it 3x a day. I just recently downloaded an application called "Juice Defender". It is a free of charge application that allows me to only charge 1x a day. Sometimes the extended battery can allow the device to be pretty bulky, and I believe at one point in time Verizon was sold out of them. I definitely recommend this application. If anyone has any further questions, feel free to email me at <personal information deleted per the Verizon Wireless Community Terms of Service>

How Do I do this?
Tap on the EMail icon. Tap on an account. Tap on the Menu key, then More. Tap on Account settings and go down to Retrieve Interval. Tap on it and on the interval time you wish to receive the email for this account. You must do this for each individual account.
