I still can't see how to download the desktop app. I saw the "Downloading and Installing - Backup Assistant Plus - Windows" procedure at http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=54607 but it doesn't work. Step 4 says "Click Click to Download Desktop App." but there is no such text/link on that page.
From where did you download the desktop app?
Thanks,
KMoo

led me to this link (below) which contains many of the key words referred to in the knowledge base article you found
According to the first link in my post, it looks like Verizon did some housecleaning on its website and some merging of services:
"V CAST Media Manager has been updated and is now called Backup Assistant℠ Plus. Each of the applications you previously used (desktop app, mobile app1, tablet app and web app) will receive a free update in order to change the service’s name and, in some cases, the application’s look and feel. You will also see on your next Verizon Wireless bill that the V CAST Media Manager line item has been updated to the new name as well."

Hi MohaveMoon,
Thanks for your reply. Yeah, I saw that text about VCAST too, but since I never had that installed it doesn't apply to me. So I'm still searching for how to download the Backup Assistant Plus desktop app.... I've sent an email to support; hope to get a reply soon.

Are you wanting to do this? The FAQ's tell what to do.

Ok I see now. You have to be logged into your account to get it. Log into your account then scroll down to the boxes and click change features. In there scroll down and you will see back up assistant plus and click add. 500mb was free, 25gb was $2.99 a month and 75gb was $5.99 a month. I didn't go any farther as I have no use for this. Mary

Hi Mary,
Thanks, but no, I'm just trying to download the Backup Assistant Plus desktop app. The link I posted above does have the instructions for doing this, but as I noted above, step #4 is impossible because there is no such link on that page -- here again is the procedure I found that doesn't work:

Hi Mary,
That's not it -- that's just to subscribe to BAP, which I've already done. I'm trying to download the desktop app.
Thanks,
KMoo
