Help! My Razr won't turn back on.

I just got my Razr less than a month ago and so far I've loved it more than hated it. This morning it had a full charge and worked fine. Now, all of a sudden it seems to have shut down and will not turn back on. I've tried holding down the power button but the screen will not light up at all. I've had it plugged into a charger for about an hour thinking maybe the battery did die and I just hadn't noticed. That hasn't helped at all. It's totally crapped out on me. Has this happend to anyone else? Does anyone know what I can do? I have insurance on it, but it's not even a month old. I feel like it would be a bit ridiculous to have to get a new one already.

Have you tried a reboot? Press and hold the power key + volume down key for 10 seconds to perform a force reboot on the device. (Data on your phone will not be deleted.)

Yes, I looked that up and tried that. It won't work either. Still just a blank, dead screen.

I would leave it on the charger for an hour just to be sure it's got power and try that again.  But if that doesn't work, then I'm afraid you'll have to bring it back. I don't know much about the insurance program, but I would think this would be a simple warranty issue.  It's not like you dropped it and cracked the screen.  This sounds like a manufacturer covered event (pg. 62 of manual):

Motorola Mobility Inc. or its subsidiaries' warranty obligations are limited to the terms and

conditions set forth herein. Subject to the exclusions contained below, Motorola Mobility Inc

or its subsidiaries (“Motorola”) warrant this Mobile Phone, and any in-box accessories which

accompany such Mobile Phone (“Product”) against defects in materials and workmanship,

under normal consumer use, for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of retail purchase by

the original end-user purchaser, or the period of time required by the laws of the country

where the Product is purchased, whichever is longer (“Warranty Period”).

Let us know how it works out.

Thank you SallyC.  Had a problem with my Razr this morning (only 8 days old).  When I turned on the phone it froze at the DuelCore screen.  I was beginning to think I made a wrong choice in phones.  When I got to work I went to Verizon's site for help and saw your response to mrsamacklin512's post.  The rebooting worked.  Thank you again.

@bobocydis and @MariaRo - Glad it helped.

As an fyi, there's an online version of the Droid Razr manual here and of Android 2.3.4 User Guide here.  I find myself referring to them frequently, but many folks don't know they're out there.

Again, glad you're up and running.Smiley Happy
