It is now 6:32 EST in Edison, NJ and we are still without 4G and unable to activate a new iPhone 4S that we received yesterday for my daughter. Verizon claims that they are separate issues, however, my hubby lost 4G around the same time that I was on the phone with Verizon trying to get a new iPhone 4S up and running. Still waiting for my courtesy text, that both issues are resolved, not holding my breathe! 3G on existing iPhone 4S all good. HTC Thunderbolt running 3G not 4G like it should, but is surprisingly fast? Go figure. Hopefully, both issues are resolved soon for all..Looks like Verizon may have take on a bit more than they can handle!!

The Thunderbolt did automatically switch to EvDo Rev. A for several hours yesterday afternoon. Which was running fast than the usual eHRPD (3G network) the phone will connect to whenever 4G LTE isn't available.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I am so **bleep** off. I spent 2 hours on the phone with a rep last night that didn't help but before that I had my girlfriend go and get my Iphone 4 set up. They didn't do it. I have no phone and its only good for the internet right now. Come on Verizon we are all paying customers this shouldn't take u this long to take care of. I should be able to use my phone when I want.

I contacted Verizon AGAIN about the 4G outage and I got the automated message about the 4G outage. When I got someone on the line, the rep was unaware of the outage and wanted to trouble shoot my phone. Really? I told him it was in the news, and this was Verizon's third outage in December. He had me clear my cache, turn my phone off and on, close running applications, etc. Of course that didn't help. Verizon really needs to get their act together and explain to their customers why this happening. I had so much better reliability with my 3G phone.

Yeah, I'm pretty upset!!!!! I called three days ago because I had no 4G connectivity and explained the situation to a Verizon "specialist" and they didn't even know that there was a 4G outage in my area. It has been a few days now and still no word or confirmation of even an estimated time of reconnection. I wonder if they are going to offer a discount on my data package since I have been unable to use it for the last three days???? Things that make you go hmmmmmm????????

4G out in Detroit area as of 5am, but 3G avail (for MIFI modem data); better than yesterday when nothing worked! One has to wonder what Verizon is thinking by not communicating with its subscribers. Do they think that by not responding or notifying us that we won't notice there's a problem?! When J & J had their problem with Tylenol years ago, they were upfront about the situation and everyone appauded; Verizon really needs to hire a good PR firm to help them deal with these outages and how best to respond!!

Visiting family in Wisconsin. No 3G, No Extended 3G since yesterday. 4G I cannot confirm since I'm not in a 4G area at the moment.
