Yeah well don't get me started on that. LOL. However that tracking is different from Carrier IQ. I am thinking about ditching my cell phone all together and going back to a land line. My contract has been up for a while. This invasion of privacy is really ticking me off and no one will answer a straight question is this software installed on the Droid Incredible?

Hello everyone! "Thank you for your concern. Verizon Wireless does not use Carrier IQ. Safeguarding customer privacy is a high priority for Verizon Wireless."
I did post this answer in another similar post about Carrier IQ, however I would also encourage you to review our Privacy Policy

How so? Do you know how it works? The guy who released the information about Carrier IQ didn't completely do his homework and jumped the gun.
It's similar to how gun makers makes guns, and sell them to people. Everyone knows it can kill someone, but we don't blame the gun makers when someone gets killed. The old saying... Guns don't kill people, people kill people.
It's NOT present there... You could do a simple "Google" search on your own incredible and find the answer on the first page of the search.
AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile uses carrier IQ and Verizon does not. Carrier IQ just makes it easier for carriers to get the information they need to fix their networks or bug fix devices unless a court order deems right to that information wants more. Verizon may not use Carrier IQ, but they could very well use something else they made or by some other company.
There have already been other experts who actually took the time to take the code apart and say it doesn't do what TreV first released about the software. I has the ability to do so, BUT(This is a BIG but) it's how the carrier that has to decide what for, when/if, and how. Carriers may decide to use this software and set it up with compliance for court subpoenas, or Patriot Act orders dictate they need the information.
People are just jumping the gun, and from what I have really seen and from what the good reports say... People give more out on Twitter and Facebook.

@incredibleuser9 I just checked on my DROID Incredible and it doesn't have Carrier IQ installed. Also, there's other folks that have tested it also:

Actually he states the Verizon IS using it. Since he broke down the program, I would believe him MORE than any corporate puke at Verizon
