Can GSM phones be used?

I am looking at a Firefly cell phone for my neice to use. The phone is "Unlocked and works with AT&T or any GSM service provider." I would just turn it into a GoPhone and be done with it but her mom is on the verizon network and wants to add her daughter on her plan. Will a Firefly Glowphone work with Verizon?

A GSM phone will not work on Verizon's CDMA network.
