I just signed up for Verizon wireless and removed the check for all lines asking if I wished to receive notices from Verizon. Regardless of this, Verizon sent numerous "special offer" messages - charging a total of $2 for their unsolicited advertisements. If this is their practice on all accounts, Verizon is essentially stealing millions of dollars a day - a fantastic class action lawsuit worth billions.
How do I turn off all text messages to stop Verizon text messages to stop this?

You can block all text messaging. Call customer service to have the block put in place. And any messages from Verizon are free text messages, there should be no charge for them.
