Voicemail system is different. How do you access VM from different phone? How do you send VM to another Verizon customer without ringing her phone? Used to be able to do both of these. Don't know how to with new iPhone 4.

To check your voicemail from another phone simply call your own number and press # while your greeting is playing, then you will be asked to enter your password. Our regular voicemail system allows our customers to send a message to another Verizon Wireless customer by dialing option 2 from within our voicemail system; however, this is a feature that may not work from an iPhone device as the voicemail system for the iPhone 4 is different. You can probably find an application to do this for you.
what did you mean that you can probably find an application "to do this for you".(i.e. forward voicemails to iphone from other verizonwireless phones.)
I am positively distressed that messages from my deceased mother, which I had stored for two years on my Blackberry, cannot be forwarded to my iphone. Fortunately I sent them to my son and husband's verizon wireless phones prior to activating the iphone. The store tech was unable to save the messages since I had broken the screen on the Blackberry and he said that he could not read it.
Other than having my son/husband's voicemail accessed by a company, is there anything I can do?
By the way, I discovered this problem shortly after getting the phone. Called Verizon tech support and was told that a technician would be in touch with me within three days. That was two weeks ago and no technician ever called. That is pretty bad customer support.
Since the iPhone does use a different Voice Mail platform than other Verizon Wireless devices, it is not possible to forward a Voice Mail message from a "standard" Verizon Wireless phone to the iPhone. I definitely understand the importance of the message(s) at hand, and would like to explain we do offer a Voice Mail Archival service.
