After about a month of not having this problem it has happened 5 times today. I go to read a text. I then try to delete the text but none of the buttons work. The phone is stuck. I turn it off and turn it back on and get the message "Voicemail Activities Received Data Service N/A. Select to refresh. I have to take the battery out and put it back in to use the phone again. The first Droid X was replaced because it kept doing this. I haven't installed any new apps. Thoughts?

Try doing a hard reset on the device.
Performing a hard reset will remove ALL data including the Google account, system data, application data, application settings, and downloaded applications.
- From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).
- Touch Settings.
- Touch Privacy.
- Touch Factory Data Reset.
- Touch Reset Phone.
If presented, enter the current passcode or draw the unlock pattern.
- Touch Erase Everything.
