Won't turn on, shows green light

So last night I was playing with my phone, using up the battery, then it notified me that the battery was low. I stopped using it and just turned the display off and put it in my pocket. I went to my room and I tried to turn the display on, it didn't work. I assumed it died so I plugged it into the WALL charger. It showed the green LED light on the top of the phone, but it still wouldn't turn on. I then just went to bed and let it charge ALL NIGHT. I woke up to see the Motorola symbol on, and it was booting. Then I went back to sleep. Then I woke up later and it was the same as before, it wouldn't turn on, and the green light showed when you plug it in.

I've tried leaving the battery out for a few mins, taking the battery and SD card out and putting them back in, I've tried just letting it charge, nothing is working.

Also when I plug it into the computer via USB, it shows the green light as well, but the computer doesn't even notice it's plugged in. The computer doesn't respond to it being plugged in what so ever.

I also did some re-search before posting this! Looking at forums where people at the SAME problem, and none of their solutions are working...

It's possible that your phone got too hot while you were using it. Since the recent update, the X has been known to not boot properly because it thinks that it's too hot. Let your phone rest, maybe even put it in the fridge for 5 minutes. If it won't start after this, return it for a replacement device.

Will they give me another DroidX untill it is fixed?

Or should I ask for another phone (model)? Does anyone know of a good phone? Had a BlackBerry for the longest, wanted to try this DROIDX thing and WOW! Drama like no other!

Well it's me again and now I will be taking in MY 2ND phone in? Last night while in COSTCO my phone beeped and said 15 % left of battery life plug in or switch to battery mode? Made it home and plugged it in and the GREEN LIGHT came on!  I knew then I was in trouble  (from my last experience)? The last time the Verizon rep told me to charge the battery (they gave me a new extended battery and had to go to factory setting erasing everything ?) fully first time and then charge 3-4 hours..well it worked fine for a little over a month and now this? WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? PLEASE HELP!

I just received my third Droid X today.  I returned the first one after a month because of the blank screen/green flashing light issue.  I had the 1st replacement for a week and a half before the camera wouldnt load and the bottom half of my screen went out...started flickering at first, then completely blank but still functional.  Just got my 2nd replacement Droid X today, put in sd card and battery and back to the old black screen and green flashing light.  I am absolutely livid as I use this phone for my business.  I will be taking it in to the store tonight and I wont leave with a Droid X.  I expect some sort of reparations.

I take it they never replaced your battery or charger?

Black screen and green light usually goes right along with charging issues.  Are you using the cable and wall charger that came with your device?  If it is an issue with the charging cable I would have them replace it and the battery.

As for getting your device changed, if you are out of your 30 day no questions asked period, it's not going to happen without you forking out more $$.  People usually get mad when I write this, but it's the truth.

Yes, I am using the correct charger that came with the phone.  I love the driod x when it works!!!  I originally figured that I was just having bad luck with the first replacement, but once this one crapped out (right after esn switch), I figured that it has to be mem card or battery.

Never say never about a different phone.....I've had them swap out a phone outside of the 30day window.  You just have to be persistent and not give up.   This will be my fourth phone in less than 50 days (3rd within 2.5 weeks).

Have you tried using the phone without the memory card inserted?  I'm betting you will still get the same results. It's possible that the 1st phone had a bad charging port and it ruined the battery.  Either way if you like the phone I'd go into the store and ask them to completely replace the phone with a brand new package to include new charger and new battery.  If all your replacements are documented on your account this shouldn't be to much of an issue.

This is one area I wish VZW would make an improvement in.  When they replace a phone they need to replace all the components to eliminate on going problems such as this.  If I were a betting man, I'd put money on a new charger and battery fixing your problems.

Well I got 2 new batteries (at least thats what they told me)? And I did have the option to switch phones...exact words what would you want us to do? I said can I get another phone? He said what were you looking at? I was shocked he said that? But what out there gives you the options and cool stuff like DROID X.. Samsung Facinaite?

Then he said lets change your home charger? So I handed it over and hope that was it (charger) ?
