Some of the longer text messages I have been receiving (presumably over 160 characters) have been cut off with a black box with a white x in it. It is not a picture message and it does not have a special picture emoticon in it (I saw another post where that was the suggested answer). These messages were supposed to be purely text from other Verizon users, but half of the messages were cut off by this annoying black box. Does anyone else have this problem and how do I solve it? It's quite obnoxious to ask people to repeat the last half of what they said in a text message...

Call CS and see if there is a way then CAN enable enhanced messaging on the phone you have. If that's not possible, then the solution is to have your friends send shorter messages, or multiple messages.

I should be able to get them though, because some longer ones do come through. I have a Samsung Reality, but even when I had my old enV 2 I could get long text messages. I thought Verizon phones could all get messages longer than 160 characters? It has stopped doing that for the moment though so hopefully it will continue to receive them properly (fingers crossed).
