Hey everyone!!

I have called several times to verizon. The last they told me they cannot help me with my phone.

Here we go to  the story is that i turn on the 3g mobile hotspot and then it connects to my laptop ( HP. Windows Vista) which it has all the 5 full bars. But the problem is when i connect to the internet it just says " webpage cannot be display" is not letting me use the internet. So i have several times restarting the computer and turning on/off the phone taking out the battery. I have also done a system recovery for the computer. But it stills doesn't work!! No internet. The weird thing is that i have an iphone but doesn't have internet so i turn on the wi-fi and it connect perfectly. so for tha reason they could not help.

So i need your help! if you know how to help me. Please don't hesitate to reply!! :smileyvery-happy:

THANK YOU

Hello! This is Noah with Verizon Wireless, hope you are having a great day?

Since other devices can connect to the 3G Mobile Hotspot, everything should be working fine as far as the connection on the Droid X device.

Lets try 3 things that may resolve the issue with the Laptop PC connection:

1. Could I get you to make sure that you are not using any security software, that may be blocking the connection with the device.

2. Could I get you to delete your browsing history following the steps below:

Internet Explorer 8

Start Internet Explorer.

On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.

Under Browsing history, click Delete.

Select the check box next to Preserve Favorites website data.

Select the check box next to Temporary Internet Files.

Select the check box next to Cookies.

Select the check box next to History.

Select the check box next to Form data.

Select the check box next to InPrivate Filtering data.

At the bottom of window, click Delete.

Close Internet Explorer, start Internet Explorer again, and then try to access the Web page.

Internet Explorer 7

Start Internet Explorer.

On the Tools menu, click Delete Browsing History.

Select the check box next to Temporary Internet Files.

Select the check box next to History.

Select the check box next to Form data.

Select the check box next to Cookies.

At the bottom of window, click Delete.

Close Internet Explorer, start Internet Explorer again, and then try to access the Web page.

3. Try the Windows troubleshooting steps at the links below, and the steps to disable the firewall.

I have a similar problem. My Droid X connects to my work laptop perfectly, but on my personal laptop the phone connects to my laptop but NOT TO THE INTERNET whether Explorer, Outlook, Google Chrome, etc. Other phones with 3G Hotspot can connect to my laptop, just not my Droid X! Suggestions?

Make sure that your PC firewall allows access to the 3G mobile hotspot connection.

If  you are using Windows 7 or Vista run a network test.

Try changing the security setting on the device to WEP.

Make sure Wifi is disabled.

When 3G Mobile Hotspot service is enabled (On), other WiFi services are subsequently disabled.

From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).
Touch 3G Mobile Hotspot.
Touch 3G Mobile Hotspot.
Enabled when a green check mark is present.
If presented, touch OK.
If presented, enter an name into the SSID field.
From the Security field, touch the drop down menu.
Touch the preferred Security setting.
None
WEP
WPA
WPA2
If applicable, enter a password into the Wireless password field.
To view the password as it is being entered, touch Show Password (enabled when a green check mark is present).
If using WEP security, ensure Password type (located below the Show password option) is configured appropriately (e.g. Auto, WEP ASCII, WEP hexadecimal).
From the Channel field, touch the drop down menu.
Touch the preferred Channel setting (e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.).
Touch Save.

Yes, all 3G Smartphones with the  Mobile Hotspot capability will be required to activate the $20/2GB feature if they intend to use the service.

    {edit for TOS violation}

load it on your phone and laptop, and skip the $20 a month fee which is a joke.

In order for the 3G Mobile hotspot to work you would need to contact Verizon Wireless add the following feature to your account: MBB 3G HOTSPOT which would cost you $20.00 per month for 2GB per month. Select the type of security you want, (WEP,WPA, WPA2) and touch password and enter in your password.

    Good luck, Leo!
