This was before AND after 2.2, which I thought was supposed to fix the issue.
Why am I paying more money for a feature which is buggy at best? With my old tethered Windows Mobile phone I connected to nationwide broadband and never had to worry about the connection again!
Is Verizon addressing this issue at all? Do they even recognize there's something wrong?

I have seen the solution posted at http://community.vzw.com/t5/DROID-X-by-Motorola/Droid-X-Problem-using-3G-Mobile-Hotspot/m-p/285964#M... by Admin Moates, however the issue I and others are having a definitely a problem with the Droid's Mobile Hotspot service, not anything related to the security, Windows, or the location of the device. I can prove this because often when I attempt to simply restart the mobile hotspot service the Droid does its own soft reset. That isn't caused by Windows, security or the location of the device. That's caused by the mobile hotspot service attempting to start and crashing the phone!

Wow, at this point I'm ready to return this POS due to lack of support.
All the bells and whistles in the world aren't worth if if the phone can't do the ONE THING I bought it for.
The ONE THING my Windows Mobile *5* did just fine, btw.

It appears there's an app in the Android Market that lets you tether your phone without using the broken Mobile Hotspot and without violating your warranty (rooting your phone). I'll be cancelling that service today.
Why should I pay $20 a month for a broken service that constantly disconnects me AND when Verizon gives me NO support for the problem??
