From what I read on the boards verizon keeps them for maybe a few days, maybe someone can confirm that and you do need a court order for that as someone posted once they had to do this with verizon and they had to get the court order which they did. Mary

No need to get up set. I just meant that verizon is more strict about giving that info out and another carrier obvisously is not which is fine if that's how they want to do it. Mary

maybe it was the fact it was dealing with the harassment of a minor that pushed them to go ahead and do it i know verizon wont i cant even get them to block annoying private calls without the masked number ...why cant we just block all private calls...i guess the same reason we cant have a copy of conversations we had on phones we bought using plans we faithfully re-up month after month.
i didnt mean to get hot im just not big on calling folks liars im used to taking people for face value until they dissprove me i apologize for anything that may have been out of line and for missreading your name a crafty lady couldnt be a transformer at all

I for one and glad verizon requires the court order. I don't trust any one today to go in and try and get info like that on my account or something, security measure if you ask me. People pull so much garbage today with identity theft and stuff you just never know. Also some people help out other family by adding a line on the account for them and I am sure they would not be happy if someone could just go in and get all their text like that if they wanted too. Verizon only keep text messages on file for 10 days or 240 hours. Once this period has occured the messages are deleted from our system and are no longer available. Hope this helps.
