Hi~

My blackberry storm was working fine all afternoon until i unlocked it as it was in my back pocket in its case, I was at the ocean and i wave did splash me but it didnt get my phone. my pocket was wet but the protector wasnt wet but a few drops. The phone now will not turn on. It will start with the light at the top flickering different colors. I have tried my battery and my scan card along with the sim card and placed it in my husbands phone and it works just fine. When i try to turn it on as long as its plugged in it will give me hour glass and nothing else. I know that the phone didnt get wet to  have such issuse. If you have any ideas to help me get my phone back to working conditions i would appriecate it. I aslo put it in a bag full of rice to get out any moisture it may had. When plugged into a charger it will ight up the send key and the blackberry key only. please contact me as soon as possible. Thank you Ina

I suggest to check your liquid indicator on your device. To check for liquid damage follow the steps below.

  1. Remove back cover from device
  2. Remove battery from device.
  3. Look towards inner left side of device for a small square sticker.

If the sticker is white, there is no water damage;however, if the sticker is pink there is water damage to the device.

HTH,

Okay Morgan, I'm hijacking this post because I got my S1 wet a few months ago, but dried it out and the battery immediately and it has been working fine since. I didn't know about the liquid indicator and following your directions mine is PINK. Does this mean if I have have a problem in the future then, it is automatically decided that because it is PINK that is always going to be the problem no matter what?

If the liquid damage indicator is pink, it voids the warranty on the device.

I got my battery and phone wet with a hose.  Battery looks like this. You see that pink slip??

Hmnn my batteries look a little different in the Storm. Both have a white slip with a smaller red bar going thru them. Only one was in my phone when it got wet. I have done updates and so forth on mine and all seems to work as it should even though the pink shows in the phone.

The liquid indicator I am referring to is on the device, not the battery. Inside the back of the device, once the battery is removed, on the left side should be a small white or pink square. The square sticker is the liquid damage indicator.
