text read notification

Is there an app that can notify me  that a text that I sent was read or is the recieved information that notification?

I didn't think there was this feature available. Someone told me awhile ago on these forums that a green check mark marked up means that the person read the message

I heard that too and sure enough it's true.  When I send it has a green arrow by it and after it's read has green check mark.  Mary

As far as I know, that only holds true for messages sent to other Verizon phones.  My sister has AT&T, and any messages I send to her show a green arrow, regardless.  It never changes to a checkmark, even though I know she has read it, and responded to me.

I did not miss that part. I stated that it worked with the older phone, and not the new phone.
