Motorola hasn't even done a soak test for the update so that means Motorola is still working on it. So Verizon has no clue on any time line because they don't update devices like people perceived it to be. Until motorola is finish Verizon can't test the software and Motorola does pretesting prior to handing to Verizon.

Agreed!

Would love to hear something official from Verizon Wireless Customer Support about when they're going to get their collective butts in gear, and support/maintain this.

Motorola currently says:

DROID MAXX

This device will be upgraded to the Android 5 Lollipop release of Android, pending partner support.

On their Upgrade info page ( https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/software-upgrade-news/g_id/1949?linkId=10217927 )

Pending partner support also includes parts manufacturers which they made need drivers for. What I said earlier holds. The way Motorola does things Verizon has never seen the end product yet so they will not know. Motorola has a better chance at knowing. However the people to talk to will not be able to be contacted.

I have spoken to Motorola about it and was told that the release would be done from Verizon. We had a 1st gen Moto X that already got it, (swapped it out for Droid Turbo just this week) and my brother ordered a 1st gen Moto X and got a 2nd gen shipped to him months ago got the update within a month of getting his! Sounds like typical corporate pass the buck....maybe just a ploy to sell new phones that aren't moving. I upgraded to this from my Droid Bionic because the Bionic could not be upgraded to Lolipop.

Tell them to check their beta program...

Yes it will come from Verizon servers but it isn't directly from them... They have not done a soak test yet so it's still in motorola hands.

Got tired of the waiting and runaround with who is releasing the upgrade. Bought a Droid Turbo to replace the Maxx and withing days got an E-mail from Motorola that the Turbo 2 was just released! Love the communication from my Verizon store with that one!! I would have pre-ordered a Turbo 2 that day. Needless to say the Turbo was returned the next day, especially with problems we have with another Turbo on the account! Ordered a designed Turbo 2 (another fiasco with Verizon, but that's another story) and the Turbo 2 is almost perfect. I doesn't live up to the battery life stated but it will go from morning till I go to sleep. The Maxx would definitely last me 2 days on a charge, so it stays in it's box as a back-up just in case....

Anything wrong with the Droid Maxx? Mine works just fine with Kit-Kat. I like it better than my newer Moto X.

The only complaint I have is with "Advanced Calling" as it isn't as reliable as CDMA. Sounds MUCH better on my end, but at times others cannot hear me. Not sure if it is more of a phone or technology issue???
