Just recently, my phone started to redirect me to the main system for leaving messages, and asks for my mailbox access number. I do not know what this access number is, and this is effecting my ability to communicate with people over the phone. What should I do to fix this?

leaving or receiving message?? to hear should be the last 4 of the cell #, unless you changed it.

To be specific, I had my mailbox set up, but now it seems to have reset,
and I now have no voice mailbox.

The problem is that I cannot do that as I don't know my mailbox access
number. It brings me to the main voice messaging system, asking to dial a
number to leave a message, or press pound to check my own voicemail. I hit
pound, and it asks for the access number. I tried resetting the voicemail
pin and using that, but that didn't work, and the last four digits of my
phone number didnt work either.

We aren’t going to throw in the towel on this, SamRGarcia. We’d like for you to reset the Visual Voicemail app to restart the service. Here’s how: http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-97270/
Also on the possible chance that callforwarding in engaged, please dial and call *73.

Call forwarding was engaged, but disabling it and resetting the app seems
to have had no effect. Thank you for the effort so far, I'm not giving up
on fixing this.

I'm so sorry to hear this issue has persisted.I would lost without my voicemail. Let's look deeper into this. Is Wifi turned off? Did this start after an app was downloaded. Please power down the device remove and reinsert the Sim card and retest.

I did all that, tried calling *86, and even tried to reinitialize the
visual voicemail app. when the visual voicemail app tries to set up a
mailbox, it stops responding and quits on its own.
