I like to use my Droid as an alarm clock. I also like to have the phone available overnight, in case of emergencies.
It seems that many commercial servers send their email out overnight. On my prior phone (Treo 700p) I was able to tell the phone not to download email between certain hours (e.g., between 11 PM and 6 AM). I had to set this preference only once and it would stay in effect until I changed it.
Is there any way that I can do this on the Droid? I don't want to put the phone on Silent because then I would miss an emergency call.
Thanks for your help.

You may be able to do that with the app FoxyRing, or if not, then you're able to edit the notification settings via the app itself. Such as Gmail>Menu>Settings>Notifications.

Smart Alarm Clock has an option to silence all notificaitons during the night. You might want to check that app out in the market.

Hello,
If you go to settings and click on "Sounds & Display", you can then check the "Silent mode" box. By doing so, you will silence everything but media and the alarm. No text messages or email will make noise.

NightRinger will allow you to silence everything but specific contacts who you want to be able to reach you.
