Look how many characters you had to type in correctly before it found it. You had almost write out almost the entire word even though it's an extremely obscure word.

This just demonstrates exactly what I'm talking about.

It's extremely slow and extremely stupid compared to the predictive text that LG g2 had prior to the update. It's a serious downgrade

I don't understand why you are still caterwauling about this keyboard issue.  I have no issues, and this is the first I have heard of anyone else fussing.  Use a different keyboard.

I use Swype - it has 5 words (sometimes less if they are longer words) in the tray and you can scroll right to get more, it "learns" your phrasing so you can pretty much type out most messages just by tapping the next word from the list.  It asks if you want to save names or places that are not in the dictionary already... in short, it's very customizable and will work with you, not slow you down.

Another option is Swift Key.  You don't have to use the Google keyboard if it doesn't work for you.

I tried Swype once. It was like I tried to type with a potato!

To each his (or her) own ... the point is there are a variety of keyboard options and apps, and hopefully the OP  an find something that will work.  Swype did seem awkward at first, but once I started using it, I love it.  But that's me....and everyone works differently.

The options at the Google store are extremely poor ones and they don't load onto the phone properly. The LG keyboard is chosen and it is greyed out so you cannot unchoose it.

So even when I load one of the keyboards from Google Play that I pay for the phone will not allow you to choose that keyboard to use it. It stays on the old slow stupid Google keyboard from 5 years ago instead of the fast intelligent keyboard from 2 years ago.

The next problem is that I have purchased another keyboard for $2.50 that claims it's as good as the old LG keyboard. I have installed it. It appears as one of the keyboard options.

However what Google and Verizon call the LG keyboard is chosen and it is greyed out so that you may not unchoose it.

So even though I paid 250 for a new keyboard I can't choose it. I'm still stuck with the old stupid slow retarded Google keyboard from 2010.

It was fine in 2010 but now that I'm used to a real keyboard it sucks horribly. How do I choose a new keyboard when my phone will not allow that?

I hate 5.0 .  It's almost as bad as an apple now.

I'm extremely surprised that there are not more people that are very upset about LG or Verizon or Google or all three taking away predictive text and spell checking.

They replaced something that was awesome with a terribly stupid slow and almost useless program from 6 years ago.

I want to know why?
