I use to play MMO's a long time ago. My favorite was Asheron's Call. ( no better PvP system has been made since)

I played WOW for a few years and that was when Comcast sent a letter that said either I needed to change to a business internet plan (over $200 just for the internet) or slow down the useage.

I think Comcast has a 200 or 250 soft cap back then (2006)

In response to the original post,

You are going to have to buy all of your devices off contract. meaning not from Verizon cause for whatever they will not sell you a phone with out the service.

As for sticking your unlimited phone data sim to a router yes you can do it. My advice get something recent cause the older ones are horrible I should know I tried them all. Do your research as well the device that offers voice has an embed sim meaning you cant take it out.

As for voice get a Google voice account and just forward all calls to your new digital number.

Lastly be grateful that you live in a the boonies and get great data speeds because I to live in the boonies and have to deal with the option of going hard cap DSL or stick with slow Verizon Wireless data.

Not true.  Verizon phones are unlocked and can be purchased at full price and used on another network.

THis is is not the same as buying a phone with financing or subsidized.   If you buy a subsidized phone, it is discounted and the service includes a line fee designed to recover the cost of the phone.  Next is an interest free loan on the phone.  No matter which method, all customers will end up paying the full retail cost of phones. ( and always have )

If he moves his sim card to a non smartphone, Verizon will register the new ESN and it will not register as a cell phone.  cell phones register much differently, talk, text and data.  A mifi is data only and would register as such.

He would risk losing his unlimited plan - as previous posts warned him - due to breach in terms of service.

You also misunderstood his data source.  His unlimited cell phone data, is his only internet access.

I've also seen on eBay where people are renting out their unlimited 4G hotspot devices for 150/month!!! Or plans with an unlimited device on them and selling them, but Verizon closed that by only allowing the transfer of an existing unlimited plan to a plan that already has unlimited. I should just go spend money raking in all this unlimited plans and renting them out.
