Immediately after the 5.0 update, while I could still connect to my WIFI, I lost internet access. I am using the LG G3 phone. I have reset my modem, turned my phone off and back on, "forgot" the WIFI connection and re-established it, and setup a static IP address. I even did a "Reset settings." Nothing worked. I cannot access the internet over my WIFI connection.
My internet connection continues to work over the WIFI with my tablet and Kindle (none of which use Lollipop), so it's clearly only a problem with the phone. After reading dozens of websites and spending several hours of trying to fix this, I wish I could go back to the old version. (I've read that some have done a factory data reset, but to no avail. Because of the work involved and the fact it doesn't seem to work, I haven't taken this step.)
Any help with fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I am so sorry to hear about the lose of internet connection after the software update. I understand being able to connect to wifi is very important. What exact message do you receive when you are connected to your home wifi and try to access the internet? Do you have this issue with not being able to access the internet when connected to other wifi's? When you removed and readded the wifi connection did you receive any error messages when entering in your wifi password?

Thank you for responding. I don't have any other nearby WIFI connections I
can access this morning, but may be able to get to one later today.
However, my Tablet, Kindle, and Roku devices are all accessing the WIFI
internet without problems.
I do not receive any error messages when I enter my password. Under "WIFI
Networks" the WIFI is listed as "connected," Signal strength "excellent,"
Link Speed "72 Mbps," Frequency "2.4 GHz," and Security SPA2 PSK. My
Motorola software on my desktop lists the IP address for my "android" phone
as a device accessing the WIFI.
When attempting to download email, I receive an error "Server temporarily
unavailable. Try again later." When attempting to access the internet, I
receive "No data received. Unable to load the webpage because the server
sent no data. Error code: ERR_EMPLY_RESPONSE."
In order to access the internet, I am required to turn the WIFI off. Even
with the "Mobile data" selected to "Allow data access over mobile networks"
selected, it doesn't default automatically but continues to try to use WIFI
exclusively unless I turn it off.
I received notification this morning of a lengthy list of apps needing to be
updated (apparently in response to the system upgrade). These included
Android System WebView, Chrome Browser-Google, Google, Google Play Books,
Google Play Games, Google Play Movies & TV, Google Play Music, Google+, and
Verizon Messages. I updated all of these and restarted my phone. I then
turned off the "Mobile data" and turned on WIFI. Web Access through the
Chrome browser was restored using WIFI. However, I continued to receive the
same message when attempting to download emails: "Server temporarily
unavailable. Try again later."
Next I shut down the phone and unplugged my Motorola, waited 30 seconds, and
plugged it back in. I then turned my phone back on. This made no
difference.
So, I can access the internet over WIFI in my web browser, but still cannot
access my email over the WIFI. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I appreciate all the troubleshooting steps you have completed. I want to make sure you can still use your WiFi when you access your emails. Place the phone in "Safe Mode" http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-112843/ and test your phone. Keep us updated with progress.

I am having the same issue. I tried all the previous trouble shooting steps (i.e. power cycling the modem, factory resetting the phone, etc) with no success. Safe mode also doesn't seem to make a difference --- no Wi-Fi access.

I was able to connect to a different WIFI system today. This made no
difference as I was still unable to download emails while connected to that
WIFI system.
I placed the phone in "Safe Mode" as suggested. This made no difference. I
was able to connect to the WIFI, but when I attempted to download emails I
again received the message "Server temporarily unavailable. Try again
later."

While I still have no email access over WIFI whatsoever, even my webpage
internet access has proved unreliable. I've had to force my phone not to
use "Mobile Broadband Connect" to ensure I'm not using it rather than WIFI
when my WIFI internet suddenly becomes unavailable. I received notice
yesterday that my data usage had almost reached its limit under my plan. I
hadn't realized I had been using it until I followed up and discovered my
usage had skyrocketed over the last few days due to problems with accessing
my WIFI.
While Verizon is working on a fix, it would be helpful not to be charged for
additional data usage over my plan limits that would not have otherwise
occurred because I was forced to use the mobile connect rather than my WIFI.

Remember, you're not paying Verizon for Wifi functionality on your device. That it not their job..... this is the responsibility of the manufacturer. You're paying a $300 bill for calls, text, data and of course support. They didn't design the phone nor had any implementation on the framework of Lollipop......but hey it's always easy to blame the carrier when you don't know how anything works as the average consumer. So easy........
