I have been a Verizon customer for a good many years. When I joined all 4 of our phones had unlimited data. Over the years the unlimited data dropped off and in order to upgrade my wife and kids' phones I had to go to new plans for them. Due to the nature of my work, I had to keep my email on active-sync and had to keep unlimited data. The issue is, I can never upgrade my phone, and have to pay full price, which I have done several years. You would think Verizon would like to keep customers that pay over $400 a month phone bill, and allow an occasional upgrade. I just inquired(again)and was told no(again). I guess it's time to switch to Sprint so I can keep my unlimited data(and save about $200 a month. I know their service isn't as good but the extra $ will ease the pain somewhat. I guess the point is, Verizon has never actually done anything to want to keep me as a customer, and I know they won't miss me. Anyway, had to vent a bit here.
So, those of you who were previously with Sprint, is the service that noticeable?

Doesn't worry you to put your business requirements at risk? A single missed deadline because you did not have service could easily wipe away any savings over months or years.
Sprint service could be fine if you stay in major cities only. If you do any travel by car or train between cities or do work in rural areas or smaller towns, you will not be happy with Sprint. Also there are many reports that Sprint speeds are the slowest around.
How much data do you use? If you can't afford the unlimited, do you really need it. Most will say, and I agree, hang on to unlimited as long as you can. I would add, as long as it makes sense for you.
If you combined all your lines on a More Everything plan, with enough data to support your business needs, did you price that out to be a reasonable option?
Yes, service is noticeable, especially rural. In the middle of a major market city, no issues.
If it makes you feel better, all customers pay full price for their phone, be it on contract or on Edge. The money on contract rates pays the for phone and the "discount" for $15 under 6GB plan and $25 over 6GB plan essentially lowers the plan rate to make up for the phone cost.
Also think about contract phones have an ETF as well.
You pay the phone in full no matter what, but at least on Edge, you have no upgrade fee.
However, keeping unlimited would require a full-cost purchase, and there again, you are no worse off since the phones have to be paid for anyway full cost either over a contract of 2 years, ETF, or Edge payments.
How much data do you actually use in a month... (not a guess, but a actual figure) and how much does that single phone you use for business use as well.? there is a REASON why sprint gets one of the worst scores for customer satisfaction .. its not by accident.. one could say.. the seriousness of your business could be looked at or determined by carrier you choose to do your business on ...

There is no amount of saving/discount that would convince me to put up with bad and/or non existent service...paying any amount of $$$ for something that doesn't work is just crazy.
AAs both a sprint and Verizon user I have noticed zero issues. I think people badmouth sprint due to their previous flaws. In all honesty, the Verizon boards show just as many if not more issues. I have been even out of the country with my sprint device and zero issues. It's up to the user to do the trial period of a company and make their own decisions.
I agree with you...my experience with Sprint may not be the same for others. In my area, Sprint was not an option for me as the coverage was spotty. My issue with the the OP saying that he (or she) knows that the service isn't great but is willing to pay for it anyway because it's cheaper. And to each his or her own...Its my opinion when I say I just can't justify paying any amount of money for something that doesn't work...regardless of how cheap it is.
It really depends (as others have said) on where you work and live and how much travel you do. The best way to find out is to try it out. I had Sprint for nearly 18 years here in Tucson and the service has gotten worse over the years as they moved to 4G, when they completed the 4G upgrades I had to put my phone into 3G only mode to use internet at all because the 4G just didn't work at home, work or anywhere in between. To top it off they moved the tower from 1/2 mile to 3 miles away from my house so I could no longer text and make voice calls reliably, some times they worked some times not. Tucson is a tough location, I can also say with Verizon that calls work fine at my house but without wifi I would have 0.1Mbps 4G data which is hideous and worse than Sprints 3G was. Travelling definitely has been considerably better with Verizon than it ever was with Sprint, I get full fast 4G data just about anywhere even between here and Lukeville, AZ which is literally in the middle of nowhere. Major cities do typically have great Sprint coverage it just gets spotty when you leave those areas.
TThe only reason why I had gotten Verizon was due to work. But once 4g came in our area it was stellar. No issues. My only concern is the new phones that come out don't hav dual radios so you can't surf and talk at the same time. But at the same time, how often do I do that?
