Verizon does not support WiFi calling, period. I made the mistake of choosing Verizon. You made the mistake of choosing Verizon.

Hello. I have the Samsung Galaxy S4 and live in Southern Utah. Zip is 84737. I get a great signal in most of the Saint George area but I am lucky to get 2 bars. I drop a lot of calls when I try to call family and friends. I switched from T-Mobile because the sales rel told me I could use my WiFi to call people. Honestly I would have never switched is I knew there was no WiFi calling feature with Verizon. . Please tell the powers that be that WiFi calling would be a great way to entice new customers to switch to Verizon! I know many T-Mobile customers would switch. I am off to find a WiFi calling app but I shouldn't have to use an app. Oh and PLEASE add some more towers in the 4 corners area.

WOW!  How smug of you.  I also love in a book "black hole" neighborhood inside a large metro area.  The fact that my wife, who is a doctor, and myself can get reliable service from Verizon makes me angry.  I can't standing told that I should pay for a network extender because Verizon can't be bothered to assess the problem or adjust the configuration of the cell tower antennae.  Is this how Verizon does business- by arrogantly passing-the - buck to it's customers?

Yes, Verizon does think very highly of themselves.  AT&T and Sprint supply network extenders FREE of charge to their customers.  Verizon's response is that they have better coverage "where you need it" so that is why the don't supply a free network extender.  I guess I don't need cell coverage at my home where I spend most of my time.  I guess I don't need to pay all of my bill then for service I am not receiving.  I'll determine what I "need to pay you".

So I either have 0 Cell reception at my house or pay the lofty $249.99 (which Verizon will so graciously budge a measly $15.00 off at most, with Supervisor approval of course)  for a network extender that uses MY internet connection that I am paying for, not Verizon, so that myself and other Verizon customers can make phone calls.  Once you are attached to the extenders, there is no way to get off of them other than going outside its coverage range.

Sprint is now offering a $50.00 unlimited Voice, Text, and Data plan.  I think I will check it out.  I have grown tired of Verizon's piss poor customer service (I have an 8 month long customer service nightmare story for my Company for another time).

I was also excited about Wi-Fi calling until I see Verizon does not support as of now.  Reception in my home area has gotten worse in the past couple months.  Zip code 31419.  I see Verizon has several towers in the Savannah area, but none within 10 miles of my neighborhood.

Please advise plans to allow wi-fi calling or updates to cell network at 31419.  Note: no 4G service, and 3g is very week: 1 bar inside and barely two outside.  Please help!

You probably could sign up for Google Voice (now integrated into Google Hangouts) and use that when needed.  I can make, and receive calls from my iPad even - for free.

hasselba,

I am so sorry to hear you are having service issues in your area. I do see that your area may have network opportunities. Have you ever had a ticket filed regarding your service issues? Does service improve when you leave this area? What type of device do you have?

Include me in the group who has had Verizon for over a decade (as a matter of fact, even had them when they were "Bell Atlantic"). I recently moved into a new house in late July. I am less than 5 miles, as the crow flies, from a major airport. Sadly, I am in a transition zone. My back yard on the Verizon coverage map is listed as Verizon 3G, and the front of my yard is listed as Verizon LTE. I drop calls constantly, even to the point that I've been disconnected from VZW customer service. I was holding out for WiFi calling, since it was enabled in iOS 8. But then the smugness of VZW to say "We built our voice platform so extensively [that] there was never a need for us to tell our customers, ‘Oh, our network is not good enough so you need to go on Wi-Fi to complete your call.'”"

Maybe not a need. But extremely arrogant to presume we don't want it. I work at home, and I drop 50% of my calls. Suggesting I pay $250 for a network extender, as opposed to being provided to me so I can use your service, is absurd.

Maybe T-Mobile isn't the best network, but they at least seem willing to do what they can to please their customers. Perhaps Verizon should do the same. And if WiFi calling doesn't come soon? I will be switching carriers.

Why should we even connect to our WiFi at home if it does nothing for reception???  I've been complaining for months about poor reception in my area, voice and messaging, and have gotten nowhere with Verizon.  My contract is almost up and I'm seriously considering switching carriers.
