I hope that's true. Anyway, my contract ends 12/14, so we'll all know by then what's up.

Google is my friend. No where did i find anything to back up your assertion(s) about the Z1S production fail rate that you implied.
Unless you have a link to share with us that specifically states there's a more than 10% production fail rate with Z1S?
Like TMO89 said "wouldn't those be the odds for any new device a consumer purchases, bar the Xperia Z2....? Lol".

Like I told you before... It's not selling so it will not get the hits(which affects search results).
You don't have to believe me, but the facts it does have a high fail rate and a almost everyone of them has a screen problem. Check out Sony care forums. I own a Z1S and exchanged it multiple times during my 14 day period and ALL of them were not refurbs and ALL of them had the same problem out of the box. The Z and ZL are better than the Z1 or Z1S in terms of build quality.

I build cell sites for a living (14yrs) and we have been doing major upgrades for Verizon in the Texas market. I have been installing equipment at the cell sites for the last 6 months that are VoLTE capable. This system is being installed not just in Texas. A reliable source informed that the phone will be on Verizon shelfs sometime in the 3rd quarter (August). By then most of Verizon sites will have been upgraded.FYI Upgrading cell sites with new technology is becoming such a short timespan between new technologies that a shortage of subs for the installs is growing. Definitely work security in my line of work, finally!!

By that time Sony will be announcing the Z3. Similarly what happened to the Z, Z1/Z1S, and Sony will not disappoint.
