Re: i want to change carriers to straight talk and not sure how to have our phone numbers and same phones changed over. will verizon just sent me a final billing once i do this or should i cancel services first?

You can switch anytime you like. but as far as using your own device, you will have to contact straight talk.

Also the service has to be active on verizon before you port out. Straight talk takes your verizon account number and pin number and handles it all for you. Verizon then closes out that line of service. Do this a few days before your bill closing date or you will have to pay another month of service of which you cannot use.
